Taiwan bans the importation of ammonium bicarbonate - used as raising agents in baked products - from China after testing positive for melamine contamination.
Tests showed that the ingredient from China contains 70-300 parts per million of melamine, far higher than the safe level of 2.5 ppm.
Malaysia previously banned the importation of ammonium bicarbonate from China due to melamine contamination.
