Cloned Phones Rampant in China

The Inquirer has a story about the proliferation of fake mobile phones in China. According to the site, roughly 60% of all handsets in China are clones of the real things.

These these are reaching places other than China too. A friend of mine recently bought a phone he thought was a genuine Nokia, but apparently is not.

Heparin Update

The US FDA has said it identified tainted heparin from China in 11 countries. The countries are: Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United States.

Tainted Heparin May Have Killed 62

Reports suggest that the tainted heparin from China may have caused 62 fatalities, up from previous 19.

Heparin, a dialysis drug, is made from the mucous membrane of pig intestines, and is sourced largely from China.
