Fake Olympics

It seems that fakery is not limited to goods - but events as well.

China replaced a child singer with a fake one during the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, after officials decided that the original singer do not represent the motherland enough(really? Mao has really bad teeth), on the account that she had crooked teeth and not cute enough. So they substituted her with somebody more suitable, who lip-sync 'the Ode to the Motherland.'

Also, the fireworks shown during the opening wasn't all real - they are CG-generated, painstakingly rendered in computers months ahead.
